meteorolgoy website

http://www.atmos.millersville.edu/~ams/radarprojecthome.html
This is what i have done so far. Today in class Nancy put felicia in our group because her group members did not give her any data to work with. Since there is a lack of information on the west liberty tornado we are now doing a mapping project, with some other information.  We found the weather write up, which includes the times and major cities and damage points that the tornado touched down in.  This is an in progress.

Tornado infographic examples

here are a few examples of some inforgraphics, some are better than others.  Keep in mind that because of limited time the one i will make will not be as great as most of these!

this one works really well they show a lot of information in an easy to read and understand way.

This one has a lot of text a little more than i would like to use in our info graphic, but depending on what you want to show in ours we may need to.

this one is very simple, but it focuses more on one tornado specifically, rather than a bunch like the other examples i have on here.  This one is too simple, we can do better than this one, i just thought that soem of the information they used we could use on the kentucky tornado.

this one has a lot of information but does a really good job at organizing it effectively.

this one is simple but it works well, this is the kind of infographic i think we are aiming towards considering our time frame.

All i need now is the information that you want to show in the infographic and maybe someideas of how to effectively show the information that you want. I know nothing about tornados or weather so you guys need to help me understand what you want to show so i can put it together so your audience can understand it.

4-20-12

I have not heard much from Jessica and Pete, they have been very busy.  They have sent me a link to a blog that has a lot of information about what the tornados did in Ky and who they effected and how.

I am going to look over it to get more of an idea of what happened. I am still not sure exactly what i am supposed to be creating for them but i hope they let me know soon.  Nancy said that next week they should be starting to work more on the project so hopefully i will hear from Pete and Jess then.

First Meeting

So Me (Amanda), Pete and Jess met last Monday April 2nd at the meeting with pizza. We introduced ourselves and talked about the project.  The topic is a tornado that hit West Liberty Kentucky about 3 months ago.  Pete and Jess both told me that they were not sure what the project consisted of or what we were supposed to do.  They were going to speak to their professor for ideas of a good project done in the past and what we were supposed to get done, as a visual.  They spoke as though we were supposed to make a website.  I do not have much background in web design, but Jess is in charge of the weather website for Millersville.  So if we do need to create a website i think with both of our knowledge we may be able to put something together that makes some sense.  We left the meeting with Jess and Pete wanting to ask more questions of their professor and wanting to find some information they could give me to better understand what we were doing our project on.

I was just informed by my professor Nancy Mata, that we are supposed to create 3 info graphics for them to later add to their website.
